By using a simple visual indicating system, this small transistor tester allows you to run a quick ‘go/non-go’ check on NPN as well as PNP transistors. If the device under test is a working NPN then the green LED (D1) will flash, while the red counterpart will flash for a functional PNP device. However if the transistor is shorted, both LEDs will flash, and an open-circuit device will cause the LEDs to remain off. The circuit is based on just one CD4011B quad NAND gate IC, four passive parts and two LEDs. The fourth gate in the IC is not used and its inputs should be grounded. Alternatively, you may want to connect its inputs and output in parallel with IC1.C to increase its drive power to the transistor test circuit. IC1.A and IC1.B together with R2, R3 and C1 form an oscillator circuit that generates a low-frequency square wave at pin 4. If the load is an electric valve in the water-supply line, it will open and remain open until the water rises and touches the probe; this shorts SCRl`s gate and cathode, thereby turning off the SCRl, which effectively open-circuits the secondary. That open-circuit condition, when reflected back to the primary winding, removes the triac`s trigger signal, thereby turning the water off.

This is the circuit diagram of Rain and Water Alarm circuit . This circuit generates alarm sound when its sensor is witted by water which make a short circuit (connection) between X and Y. A tone of about 1kHz which can be hear while detecting water, is provided by a stable multivariate from timer IC 555. The sensor when witted by water completes the circuit and causes the 555 oscillate at about 1kHz. It has to placed generating an angle of about 30 – 45 degrees to the ground. This tends to make the rain water to flow over it towards the ground and prevents the alarm from going on because of the stored water on top of the sensor. An unconventional, scalable high efficiency 12V solar power system and battery charge controller with low voltage cutout to protect the battery. (ideal for systems of 50W or less). The most common solar charger consists of a Schottky diode to prevent the battery from draining into the PV panel and a shunt regulator that effectively short circuits the panel once the battery is fully charged. One problem with this approach is diode losses and the resulting heat. If a 50W 12V panel supplies 4A to the battery, the Schottky diode will drop about 0,4V across it dissipating about 1,6W of heat. This requires a heat sink and loses power to heat. The problem is that there is no way of reducing the volt drop, paralleling diodes may share current, but the 0,4V will still be there.
